Apprentice: 3x Electrical/Electronic Engineering Maintenance

Upturn Enterprise Ltd in partnership with Diodes has a great opportunity for someone interested in a career in electronics and/or electrical engineering maintenance. We have teamed up with Diodes Incorporated, who are a global manufacturer and supplier of high-quality application specific standard products within the broad discrete, logic, analog and mixed-signal semiconductor markets. Diodes serves the consumer electronics, computing, communications, industrial, and automotive markets.

About the Apprenticeship

For the duration of this 3-4 year development programme you will be given one day per week to complete your studies with a local training provider. For the other 2-3 years you will be working in the business, applying your learning and gaining experience from highly skilled engineers. When in the workplace you will be involved in maintaining and repairing on-line production equipment in a clean room environment.

The programme is intended to lead to completion of an Advanced Apprenticeship with the following qualifications:

  • Level 2 NVQ Engineering
  • Level 3 NVQ Mechanical Engineering
  • Level 3 BTEC National Certificate in Electrical and Electronic Engineering
  • Level 4 HNC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering
  • Potential to progress to Level 5 HND in Electrical and Electronic Engineering

Entry requirements

Applicants would be expected to have Grade C or above at GCSE in Maths, English Language and Science. You should also be able to demonstrate a practical aptitude together with good communication and team working skills. The successful Apprentice will have an enthusiastic approach to and a genuine interest in engineering and be willing to work and study hard.
